About Me

Michael Carson

Michael, a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, learned continuous improvement, during Florida Power and Light’s quest for the Deming Prize. He led his first team, through the problem solving process and was awarded the FPL’s Presidents Cup in 1989. That same year FPL was the first non Japanese Company to be awarded The Deming Prize for Quality Management. Part of FPL’s Vision was to be recognized as the best managed Electric Company in the US, To our delight, we far exceeded the vision when we were recognized as the best managed company in the US. 

Currently FPL is the largest Electric provider in the US.    

“It just made sense”, and “the process works” were his mantra, In 1989 he was selected to Join Qualtec Quality Services a FPL Group company specifically built to fulfill FPL’s commitment to teach other Western Companies the same skills and knowledge as well as how to properly change the culture change required to transformed FPL from an average regional Electricity provider to be recognized as “The best managed company in the USA”  

During his 40 year career he has assisted 33 companies as well as government agencies to implement the changes required to insure his clients were the best in their industries. 

Michael joined MaxPT to pass his learning on to high schoolers, his new mantra is “to create a generation of problem solvers”.

Michael has the entire MaxPT team behind him and the MaxPT materials and courses are available for licensing.

Lean Six Sigma has many interpretations, as a Management System it has stood the test of time, since its first introduction to the Japanese to rebuild their industries after the 2nd World War, it evolved into “The Toyota Way” including “Just in time inventory” and brought back to the US by the “Japanese Union of Scientists and Engineers” then westernized to work for FPL, currently it is still recognized as the most effective and efficient management system.

You will work on your own REAL problems during the courses and at the end of the 3 days, you will be 75% complete with your project. This training will return 3 to 5 times on your investment.

High School Lean Six Sigma

Join us to “Create a generation of problem solvers.” Our Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Green Belt Certification Curriculum for High School students includes robust training, a train-the-trainer process, web-tools and a digital material license. We’ve certified 100’s of teachers in Ohio. Our system and approved trainers have certified almost 1,000 yellow and green belts to date (1/2020). We were the first company in the US to train and certify High School students in Lean Six Sigma.
